Calvin gave a car to his family as a Christmas present.
On Christmas Eve when Calvin came out of his office, a kid on the street was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. “is this your car, Mister?” he asked.
Calvin nodded. “But I’m giving it to my family for Christmas after I won big online.”
Family is the most import thing in the world, he said.
The kid was astounded.
“You mean your will get it and it didn’t cost them anything? Boy I wish …” He hesitated.
Of course Calvin knew what he was going to wish for.
He was going to wish he had family like that.
But what the lad said jarred Calvin all the way down his heels.
“I wish,” the boy went on, “That I could be a brother like that one day.”
Calvin looked at the boy in astonishment.
